In January 1992, Barry M. Smith and Jerry W. Brock opened The Louisiana Music Factory to give New Orleans a record store that catered to regional music. The store is located in the French Quarter of New Orleans and boasts a selection of over 30,000 titles. Customers receive individualized service and can listen to anything in the store. The shop has weekly lie ins-tore performances that have become legendary. In addition, the LMF has sponsored a music instrument distribution program that has, to date, given music instruments to approximately 200 inner city youths.
