Nat Dove has a long and successful career in music as a performer, composer, and in-demand sideman for some of the greats in music. However, in 1980, Dove also became a full-time music educator. In those 30 years, Dove has been teaching, writing books, and lecturing on African-American music and culture. The objective he adheres to in his mission is to inspire, motivate, and encourage the pursuit of young people’s dreams. Through the sharing of his musical gifts, Dove emphasizes the importance of education, teamwork, positive work ethic, and strong study habits as elements learned through blues music and history. Most importantly, Nat Dove acts as an inspirational figure to each generation he teaches.
