In June of 1989, Buddy Guy opened Buddy Guys Legends in downtown Chicago. Distinguished for its innovative scheduling of local, national and international Blues artists, the club has built a reputation as one of the nation’s premier Blues addresses. Van Morrison, Willie Dixon, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Greg Allman, David Bowie, Dr. John, and The Black Crowes have all graced the stage at Buddy Guy’s Legends. The club has also been the setting for a number of documentaries. as well as the location of a live album and video from Buddy Guy with G. E. Smith and the Saturday Night Live band. Living Blues magazine voted Legends the ‘Best Blues Club’ in 1993, 1994 and 1995.
