This year, Delmark Records celebrated its 50th year. Founded initially as a traditional jazz label by Bob Koester, the label began recording blues within three years of its birth. During the 1960’s, Koester helped pioneer the making of contemporary blues records. In the face of today’s economic climate, Delmark continues to successfully record the real deal, traditional Chicago blues.
