Author of the Connecticut Blues Societys Travelin with the Blues column the early 90s, Domenic Forcella approached the editor of The Herald seven years ago about doing a Blues column. The paper began carrying the column and since then three other area dailies have picked it up. Using reviews and interviews, Blues Beat covers the Blues scene on the state and national levels. An accompanying live music schedule is also printed with the column. Between the four papers, Forcellas column reaches about half the state. Just recently, the bi-weekly Farmington Valley Press picked up the column. Dom also contributes to The Press Sunday edition, the Blues Audience, State of the Blues (CTBS), and the web site PopMatters.com. He also hosts a two-hour blues show on WFCS 107.7 and is a past president of the CBS and a member of the D.C. Blues Society.
