Since Hanes Underwear was first introduced in 1901, Hanes has evolved from a basic lien of men’s underwear to the leader in men’s, women’s and children’s clothing from socks, shoes and casual apparel to underwear, intimate apparel and bedding. Today, more people buy Hanes and Hanes Her Way than any other brand of apparel. In 2000, Hanes launched a new series of advertisements for its men’s and boys’ underwear and chose “Mannish Boy” by blues great Muddy Waters to a company playful vignettes featuring Michael Jordan and others.
