Jim Bateman spent the last 29 years as manager/friend/co-producer/confidante of Clarence Gatemouth Brown, epitomizing the very best of what a manager should be. He has been instrumental as a manager in directing an important phase of Chris Thomas King’s career, and is currently managing the Benjy Davis Project, a young group from Baton Rouge. Gatemouth’s last recording was as a guest artist on the group’s current album. Jim nurtured Gatemouth’s career, assuring his needs were always met and offering constant support and guidance. Jim arranged lucrative tours and record contracts for Gatemouth, making him among the most honored and best paid artists in the Blues. During Gatemouth’s recent health crises and subsequent passing, Jim Bateman was there, offering his help and assistance every step of the way.
