The website was created by Curtis Hewston, a 41 year old technical writer and managing editor for a computer software company in Orlando, Florida. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Curtis has lived in central Florida since 1975. An active participant in the Internet Blues community since 1993, Curtis began creating The Blue Highway in April of 1995. He considers the site a labor of love. With the extensive history and continued offerings from Blues artists and efforts to keep the Blues alive, Hewston hopes he will never finish working on the site.
